Hi Daria, Love your book and blog.Quick question... why was yesterday (Oct. 2.) mornings’ pslamody taken from Sunday wk 1? I understand the Feast days and Solemnities have ther psalmodies refer to wk 1 as a matter of course, but yesterday was Memorial. The psalmody should have been taken “from the current weekday”. Can you explain? -Mark
Yes,I noticed that. I'm guessing the guardian angels get this perk because 1. They are angels! and 2. This memorial may be of ancient origin, formerly designated as a feast, and like a few others on the calendar (e.g. St. Anne, St. Mary Magdalene) retains some special privileges.
Off topic but I see Ps 37 on iBreviary and Ps 39 on divineoffice.org for the OOR for Oct 2! What gives?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's going on there. I used my regular breviary today which had Ps. 39. Both ibreviary and divineoffice.org make mistakes now and then.
